Are you an Interactor in Kenya? Here is an exciting challenge and rewarding opportunity for you!!

During the Rotary year 2020/2021The Rotary Club of Nairobi and the Rotaract Club of Nairobi Central present an opportunity for Interactors to showcase their art, skill, and creativity through an essay and video competition.

Topic: My Experience Learning Outside School – The Covid-19 Pandemic Provided a New Opportunity to Learn Outside The Normal School Environment

Eligibility

Only secondary school students between the ages of 12 and 19 years are eligible. The participants must be students in a secondary school in the Republic of Kenya and an Interact club, and submit their application on or before 6th November 2020 by 1700 hrs. Only entries submitted by this deadline will enter the competition. Participation is completely free of charge, so no entrance fee is required.

Essay Writing Guidelines

The Essay should be 700 words or less – some minor alteration of the work’s length is acceptable, but not desirable. It must be entirely the original work of the participant, plagiarism is not allowed – our judges will check every essay submitted for uniqueness. You can write your essay in either English or Swahili. Essays must be written by one person – co-authored essays will not be accepted. You can include images in your work—mainly if they illustrate the topic or your ideas – this will only help your essay stand out and raise your chances of winning the prize. Submit your essay via the link at the bottom of this page.

Video Composing Guidelines

The video should be 3 – 5 minutes long submitted via the link at the bottom of this page. The video must be entirely the original work of the participant. Your work may be presented in either English or Swahili. Videos must be shot by only one person – co-videoed videos will not be accepted.
